Instructors, Brown and Black belts (Junior and Senior) attended a course by UKTKF Chief Instructor, Sensei Kawasoe at Bisham Abbey National Sport Center on 4th Feb 2007. A major focus of the course was on the use of hip rotation to maximize power and speed
UKTKF Junior National Championships for children up to the age of 14. Our club had one student taking part, 12 year old, Samuel Ward who did really well for taking part in his first National Championships.
Dragon Alfie visited the Odeon Cinema on Monday 2nd April for a combined promotion of the karate club along with the Odeon's release of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turle Film. Alfie is a star with the youngsters.
The club attended a charity event arranged by Colchester Lions in Lower Castle Park on Bank Holiday Monday 7th May 2007. Despite a very wet day many students supported the event.

Two brothers, Dan & Andrew Morris attended the Tokankai Invitational championships representing Colchester Karate Academy.
Neither brother came home empty handed and both narrowly missed out on receiving another medal in their respective events.
Ten year old Andrew got a Silver Medal in Individual Kata whilst thirteen year old brother Dan narrowly missed out on a medal when he drew with 2 other karateka for 3rd place in the semi finals. In the final Dan made 4th place.
In Kumite young Andrew fell out before the final round whilst brother Dan achieved 2nd place after a close final.
Well done to both boys for representing the club.
